3 Key Elements To Consider When Creating Your Marketing Plan

If you want to succeed and grow your business, marketing planning is essential. Planning is the key to being effective. I want to share with you three key elements to consider when creating your marketing plan that will help you plan better and more effectively.

Hi, I am Tim Fitzpatrick with Rialto Marketing, where we believe marketing shouldn't be difficult. All you need is the right plan. Thank you so much for taking the time to tune in today. I am just going to jump into this. I want to share with you these three key elements that we actually use and consider when we are putting marketing plans together for clients. You can use the same thought process to help you get started on your plan and really help you hone in on where you should be focusing and what you should be doing. So I hope you find this helpful.

Your Marketing Plan: What is already working? Why reinvent the wheel?

So the first thing is when you're thinking about your marketing plan, it's really important to think about what's already working. What are you doing from a marketing standpoint that is already working? Why reinvent the wheel? Look at what's working in your business and make sure that you are maximizing that channel, that tactic already. So, for example, let's say that referral partners are a really strong part of our business. What I want you to do is look at starting from the end, the end in mind, the end of that process and work your way backwards to look at all the steps, all the things that are happening for you to build great referral partner relationships and try to identify are there gaps? Or are there opportunities for us to do more if you fill the gaps and make that process more efficient? Or if you can do more of it to get more and better results, increase the results, that's the first logical place for you to start from a marketing perspective. Why jump into another tactic when you haven't even maximized the opportunity from a tactic that's already working or a channel that's already working? So looking at what's already working is the best place to start when you are looking at creating your marketing plan and what you should be focusing on right now. It's the first logical place to start.

STOP OVER-COMPLICATING MARKETING AND ELIMINATE DISTRACTIONS TODAY!

We'll show you how to create a simple, effective marketing plan in minutes!

This is the exact same marketing plan we use for our business  and our clients.

It's simple and easy to use. Isn't it time you started seeing consistent, repetable results with your marketing? It all starts with the RIGHT plan...

Marketing to Existing and Past Clients

Now, second thing is how can you do more business with existing and past clients? What can you do to market to existing and past clients to do more business with them? It is far more expensive. To bring in new leads and generate new customers, it is much, much cheaper and much easier to do more business with existing and past customers. So start to look at ways in your plan first that you can maximize those opportunities before you start to look at attracting new customers. OK? It'll be much cheaper for you to do this, and it's much easier, right? They're already happy with you. They're already aware of you because you've been working with them. So what opportunities do you have to do more business with existing and past customers? Much, much cheaper way to market your business. So make sure you're maximizing those opportunities before you start to look at new opportunities. That's number two.

Understand Why You're Doing Something and What You Want Out of it

Number three. Really important to define why you're doing something in your plan and what you want out of it. OK? So let's dig into this. Hopefully this will become clear as to what I actually mean. So let's take an example. Why are you on social media? Why do you want to be on social media? Do you want to generate leads? Do you want to build credibility or authority in your space? Are you building your brand? Whatever that may be, that reason for why I am going to be on there is going to determine what I do.

From a tactic standpoint, OK? So really important because, look, if I want to generate leads on social media, well, then maybe I'm just going to maybe I'm just going to use paid ads. OK, if I want to build my credibility and my authority, well, that's going to determine what type of content I choose to share on social media. Because resharing other people's content is not going to really help me build credibility, so if I want to build credibility on social media, then I need to start creating content that I'm creating myself, you know, helping serve and educate our audience with content that we're creating. That's going to help build credibility and trust and authority over time.

Conclusion

So I hope you're starting to see how why you're doing something and what you want out of it is really important to understand, because that's going to drive what you choose to do and focus on in your marketing plan. The actions that you're going to take in your marketing plan are driven by why you're doing a specific, why you're using a specific channel or tactic and what your goal is, what you want out of it. So these three things are really, really important to understand and focus on when you're thinking about your marketing plan, because they are going to drive what you focus on in your plan.

So let's review these three things one more time. What's already working? Why reinvent the wheel? Maximize that first and foremost before you get into other channels and tactics. Two, how can you do more business with existing and past clients much, much cheaper to do business with existing and past clients than it is to try and attract new leads and convince them that you are the solution to what they need, ok? And three, you need to understand why you're doing something and what you want out of it, because that is going to determine the channels and the tactics that you use within those channels. In your plan, ok? So those are three key elements to focus on and consider when you're creating your marketing plan. Hope you find that helpful if you need help with your marketing plan.
