Now Is Not The Time To Disappear
Now is not the time to disappear. Hi, I'm Tim Fitzpatrick with Rialto Marketing. Thanks for taking the time to sit down and watch. This whole coronavirus is really impacting all businesses, some more than others right now. That's for sure. But while many of us are confined to our homes at this point, that doesn't mean that we can't communicate. We are so fortunate to have all of this technology at our fingertips now. We might as well take advantage of it, right? Why not.

Now Is Not The Time To Disappear
So I want to relay to you a few stories of businesses that I've come across the last few weeks and how they're communicating. Our oldest daughter's orthodontist has probably sent out, I don't know, five, six emails over the last couple of weeks, just communicating changes in their business, the things that they're doing to help keep patients and their staff safe.
This situation has been so fluid that their policies and procedures have changed very quickly and they've been very good about communicating that so that we, as customers, are informed. We know what they're doing, how to reach them so that if we need assistance, we know that they're there.
My optometrist has done something very similar, and I see my optometrist once a year. Sometimes, if something happens, I may go in multiple times a year, but usually, it's once a year. But they've been very proactive about letting their patients know how their policies and procedures have changed throughout this and what we need to do to get help if we need it, which has given me some comfort, just knowing, hey, if I need them, I know that they're there, and I know how they're operating at this point in time.
Now, on the flip side, my dentist, nothing. Zip. I haven't had a phone call, an email, nothing. I have no idea what they're doing and how they're handling patients at this point. To me, now is not the time to [inaudible 00:02:29] dormant. Now is the time for us, as business owners, to increase our communications with clients, prospects, our audience so that they know what is going on. They need to hear from us at this point.
If we go dormant and we don't communicate what we're doing as business owners are leaving our audience, our customers, our patients to wonder and come to their own conclusions about our business. Not good, right? Because if they're not hearing from you, they're assuming negative things, the worst, right? It's not good. They're not assuming positive things.
So, it's our responsibility as business owners to take control of that and let our audience know how we are handling things and that we are there and we are here to help them through this in whatever way we can. Okay. So just my opinion. I hope that you find it valuable.
If you have not been communicating, no better time than the present. Start now and be proactive and do it consistently and frequently. I will leave you with a quote today from an American author by the name of Jack Gantos, which I think is really appropriate for what we're going through right now. And he said, "Someone once said, anyone can be great under rosy circumstances, but the true test of character is measured by how a person makes decisions during difficult times."
The true character of people is and will continue to be revealed as we work through this together. What kind of person are you going to be? The choice is yours.
Conclusion
Thanks for listening. Just remember, even now marketing your business shouldn't be a challenge. All you need, a plan. So I am Tim Fitzpatrick with Rialto Marketing. Until next time, I hope that you and yours stay safe and healthy. Take care, and hopefully, I'll talk to you soon. Bye.
